The PFT's media Exploits

Part of being in the Partridge Family Temple is about becoming God-like in nature. The best way to do this is to imitate the Gods (Imititio Dei). Since the Partridges were media icons, we too must become media icons. Here's brief history of our freaky and beautiful relationship with the media.

The Arrest Heard Around the World:

Although there had been minor mentions of the Temple in small Colorado papers, one article mentioning the Temple's car that was completely covered in Bubblegum, it wasn't until the infamous night of our persecution that we finally started our journey towards a state of total Albuquerque.

From News of the Weird, #206, January 24, 1992:

The two founders of the Partridge Family Church were ejected for obnoxiousness from a New Haven, Conn., nightclub in September where Partridge alumni David Cassidy and Danny Bonaduce were performing. "The Reverend Placenta Rising Partridge" and his pal said the church worships the Family and believes each member of the TV family has a religious counterpart. Said the Rev, "Shirley is the Goddess and Earth Mother. Danny is Loki, the God of Mischief. Keith's sperm is milk."

Here's what happened: It was 1991. It was New Haven, CT. David Cassidy was on tour with Danny Bonaduce. Cassidy playing music and Bonaduce doing a standup routine. They brought some Partridge Family Temple Literature as well as some stickers to pass out to people in the audience and to show their gods the good work that they had done. Within minutes of the Minister Dan's evangelism, Cassidy had sent his goons to check out the situation. They confiscated the stickers and literature and threw Dan out of the show. Then Shaun went into the show to spread the good word of the Partridge Truth, and he too was thrown out. He started arguing with the security and all of a sudden the Fuzz who were standing by just decided to arrest him for no reason at all except that cops will be cops.

At first we couldn't understand what had happened. Why did our Gods treat us like this? But we were so naive. It was all part of a bigger picture: A photographer for the Hartford Advocate was on the scene, she took a photo of some of the Temple members, and we told her what had happened. She took a photo of us and gave a reporter Dan's phone number. Shaun was released on his own recognisance without bail to appear before a judge. The article was written and it was such a fascinating story that it was picked up by the wire serivces and appeared in papers throughout the land. We have been informed that it was in the News of Weird and appeared in a day by day News of the Weird calendar. If anyone has this please send it to the Temple.

At first we thought the Gods were testing us. But we know realize that this was the best way possible to spread the word to the masses. It also shows the Fuzz and everyone else out there that is against us. That if you are for us, then your for us, but if you are against us, then you are also for us.

By the way, the Judge throughout the entire charge, for he saw that it was utterly useless to go against the Partridge Family Temple!

The Temple meets Christian Talk Show Host Bob Larson:

Here is Bob Larson hanging out with The Partridge Family Temple backstage at an Electric Hellfire Club gig. From Left to Right: Bob, Dan, Shaun, Ursula, and Boyd.

After this great meeting of the minds. Bob taped Shaun and used him on his show the next day to show what kind of sick scum go to these Satanic concerts. We then called up his show and talked about the Temple on the air of "Talk Back with Bob Larson." His producer called us and wanted u to be on the show the next day because he was devoting it to what he called "Kooky Cults." Minister Dan Partridge had a lengthy spiritual discussion with Bob. Basically we crushed him in spiritual warfare. We were on the front lines, fighting Bob.

A couple years later he invited Giddle Partridge to be on his TV show "In the name of Satan." Hopefuly we can get clips of these shows on here soon.

The Partridge Family Temple meets A Current Affair

Here is Dan with a crew from "A Current Affair." Note that the producer on the right Robin Dorian is now a VeeJay for VH1, the same channel that Cassidy can be found on. Coincidence? Hardly! For some reason it was too controversial to air.

The Partridge Temple convert talk show host Jon Stewart

A goofy Spy rip-off magazine known as "The Nose" featured a negative article about the Temple in which they called us a bunch of stoners. (for some reason, people are so narrow-minded that whenever people's beliefs our outside their little reality, they automatically assume drug use.) By the way, The Nose was forced to print a retraction. A researcher at the Jon Stewart Show, an MTV talk show that became syndicated replacing Arsenio Hall's time slot in most markets, saw the article and contacted the Temple. They flew Dan out to New York and put him on the show, however they promised a hotel room for two nights but only gave him one for one night, so the Temple was forced to cancel the show. But don't worry since Jon was converted on TV, and is now a member his career is going to bigger and better places. After this tv appearance, a media frenxy began. The Associated Press called the temple and then spread the word all over the world. The interview aired on NPR. "Inside Edition" contacted the temple. They too filmed the temple but thought that our religion was too intense for their show. Many other radio stations and tv shows, newspapers, etc. contacted the temple, and finally the members of the temple were vindicated and reached a state of media-godhead.
